Minutes for
Big Sun SRA meeting – November 9th, 2008
**Meeting
called to order by David @ 7:30
**Handed
out a copy of the bylaws of BigSunSRA to all in attendance and an agenda of the
meeting
**Presidents
Report – A discussion was started on the bylaws of the association. Members has input and 2 changes will be
amended by David per the association. A
vote took place to accept the revised bylaws and the vote was passed by all in
attendance. David also reported that he
is looking into using another vendor to procure shirts for the members of our
association.
**Vice
President Report – Nothing to report
**Treasurers
report – No monies in the account but expecting payments for services rendered
to be received shortly from schools.
**Secretary
Report – will have minutes for October & November meetings to David by
Tuesday so he can post online at our website
**Assignor
Report – please use soccerrhonda@aol.com
email address to confirm all high school matches. This email is different than the one she uses for other referee
bookings. Please look at website on a
regular basis for schedules and changes.
Will be trying to get the following weeks schedule posted by Tuesday of
each week.
**Training
covered the check-in procedure that will happen on the sideline in front of
their own bench, with shirts tucked in and shin guards properly worn. Also, no jewelry including friendship
bracelets and bobbie pins. Taped over
jewelry will not be permitted.
Uniform
colors were discussed: Home team light
tops/socks….Away team dark tops/socks.
If both teams are the same, home team changes. If not possible to change, play game and write a report and
submit the FHSAA.
Make sure
fields are marked properly with coaching areas and keep coaches inside them
during the match.
Discussion
on substitutions informed all in attendance that substitutions must not be made
from the bench and we also discussed when substitutions would be allowed. Water break is mandatory per FHSAA
rules…please keep any negative thoughts to yourselves regarding water
breaks.
Discussion
on the operating of clocks at high school matches. If a clock operator has an FHSAA clock operator card, they have
been trained to operate clocks for all sports under FHSAA rules. If you are going to keep official time on
the field, discuss with the clock operator how you want them to run/stop clock
during the match.
**Discussion
on the definition of “taunting” was discussed amongst the group. There was a split on certain actions could
be deemed as taunting. It was agreed
upon by the association that excessive celebration after a goal may not be
considered taunting, but the player(s) involved would receive yellow/red for their actions if in the eyes of the
referees, the action is not deemed to be taunting.
**A group
discussion on the test and the wording of some of the questions. David mentioned that 2 or 3 from our
association may be asked in the spring to help in how the questions for next
years test will be written.
